What:

Sand Based Sport Sod is suitable for high quality residential lawns. This sod type requires reasonably good sunlight, at least 4-6 hours per day. In areas of low light it may be necessary to over-seed in the spring. This sod is grown on sand and therefore has superior drainage. It is also grown without mesh and therefore is pet friendly.

Premium Ryegrass Sod is suitable for high quality residential lawns. This sod type requires reasonably good sunlight, at least 4-6 hours per day. In areas of low light it may be necessary to over-seed in the spring. This sod is grown on sandy soil and therefore has good drainage. This product contains degradable netting reinforcement.

How: In order to prepare your yard for sod; you need to make sure you have the right soil. We recommend a sandy soil (70-80% by volume) to a compacted depth of 4” (100MM). The lawn area should be sloped to promote positive drainage. If you are not able to achieve a proper slope or if you are dealing with wet ground; you may have to install drain tile. The soil should be compacted to point that you do not leave foot prints; however also not too compact which will impair root movement and may cause drainage issues. You should apply starter fertilizer, which you can be purchase with your sod.  It is very important that the newly sodded areas receive adequate water to ensure it does not dry out. For the first 10-14 days you need to water light and frequent, until the sod is firmly rooted in. Our delivery system uses trucks with power tailgates; therefore you need a level and hard surface for the sod pallets to be placed. The sod can be placed close to where the delivery truck can park.

When: Sod can be installed any time of the year, however the preferred season is March–October. Summer time can also be good time to install sod because it roots in quick, proper watering is critical during this time. Sod should not be ordered until the area is 100% prepared in order to avoid sod spoilage. Sod can be shipped any day Monday – Friday; and because it is a perishable product it needs to be installed the same day as it is delivered. We recommend ordering 2 business days before the target delivery day.
