This product is grown on washed sand, and is compatible with USGA greens. Its growing medium is sterilized to eradicate soil borne diseases and grassy weeds i.e. Poa Annua. Dominant X-treme which is a blend of SR 1019 (also referred to as Providence) and SR 1119, has been a popular choice in recent years on new golf courses. It is known for its upright and dense growth habit, and dark green color. Dominant X-treme bentgrass is more upright and dense than Penncross, however it is less dense than Penn A4. This product is grown on washed sand and is compatible with USGA greens. Penn A4 is highly ranked in the NTEP trials for its: high density, fine leafed blades, dark color, and disease resistance to Fusarium patch. Under proper management Penn A4 can give you high quality and fast greens. The density of this variety of bentgrass makes it more difficult for Poa Annua to invade. Sports sod is grown on washed sand and is light green in color, suitable for high traffic areas such as: tee boxes, fairways, goal mounts, playing fields, etc. The genetically lighter green color of this seed mix blends in well with poa annua fairways, or any other place where place where poa annua is likely to invade. The cutting height is 30 mm (1.250”) allowing it to be used for tee boxes and fairways by lowering the cutting height in conjunction with top dressing, or can be used for sports fields by growing it out to the desired height.
